Solvability of partial differential equations by meshless kernel methods
This paper first provides a common framework for partial differential equation problems in both strong and weak form by rewriting them as generalized interpolation problems. Then it is proven that any well–posed linear problem in strong or weak form can be solved by certain meshless kernel methods to any prescribed accuracy. AMS Subject Classification: 35A25, 65N35
متن کاملKernel-based Collocation Methods versus Galerkin Finite Element Methods for Approximating Elliptic Stochastic Partial Differential Equations
We compare a kernel-based collocation method (meshfree approximation method) with a Galerkin finite element method for solving elliptic stochastic partial differential equations driven by Gaussian noise. The kernel-based collocation solution is a linear combination of reproducing kernels obtained from related differential and boundary operators centered at chosen collocation points. Its random ...
متن کاملKernel-based collocation methods for Zakai equations
Abstract We examine an application of the kernel-based interpolation to numerical solutions for Zakai equations in nonlinear filtering, and aim to prove its rigorous convergence. To this end, we find the class of kernels and the structure of collocation points explicitly under which the process of iterative interpolation is stable. This result together with standard argument in error estimation...
متن کاملConvergence of Unsymmetric Kernel-Based Meshless Collocation Methods
This paper proves convergence of variations of the unsymmetric kernel-based collocation method introduced by E. Kansa in 1986. Since then, this method has been very successfully used in many applications, though it may theoretically fail in special situations, and though it had no error bound or convergence proof up to now. Thus it is necessary to add assumptions or to make modifications. Our m...
